Residents came together at Housing 21’s scheme, Berryhill Village in Stoke-On-Trent for a demonstration of the modular kitchen and designs to support accessibility.

Following on from the success of the event held at Elm Tree Court in Bradford earlier in the year, the session included interactive demonstrations, an opportunity to discuss the choices on offer and see the designs in person.

Residents John and Eileen travelled from School Court in Hednesford for the event: “We found the consultation very informative. The range on offer is fabulous. Its nice to be kept informed and engaged throughout the process.

“It would be lovely to have a new bathroom; we are really looking forward to having our current bathroom upgraded.”

Housing 21 continues to hold collaborative opportunities to ensure that the residents approve the options and are fully engaged throughout the process. The session at Berryhill Village was open to Extra Care and Retirement Living residents from surrounding schemes including School Court n Hednesford and Summerfield Court in Stone.

Heidi Fisher, National Property Development Manager at Housing 21 said: “I’ve been travelling to various Housing 21 schemes and speaking to residents about the kitchen and bathroom fittings we have completed to find out how they are getting on with them.

“This has helped me to influence the resident product day held at Berryhill Village which has been interesting. The residents have been getting involved in trying out the different designs and giving us their feedback and thoughts on what they like and dislike.”

The feedback from residents was collated, the next step in the process involves them selecting their choices and submitting these in a brochure they received on the day.
