Prail Court

Prail Court is a quiet and friendly development enjoying a rural location in the attractive village of Coggeshall, near Braintree in Essex.

The village is lively, with plenty for residents to do. A weekly market offers a range of speciality produce such as artisan breads, cheeses, fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and pickles. There are also various clubs which meet in Coggeshall and arrange regular outings and social gatherings. The village hall holds a monthly cinema night or there is a multi-screen cinema in nearby Braintree.

Colchester, nine miles away, has a larger range of shops and facilities including supermarkets, pubs, cafés, restaurants, a theatre and a weekly market.

There is a good bus service to Colchester and Braintree, with buses running every 20 minutes from a stop in the village. The local community trust runs a reasonably priced taxi scheme and a community bus takes residents into the village twice a week. The nearest train station is Kelvedon, on the Colchester to Liverpool Street line, which provides easy access to London’s wealth of retail and leisure facilities.

The residents are proud of the court’s well-kept gardens and many enjoy raising funds for new plants and tending the flowerbeds. There are a number of bird boxes and feeders and a family of hedgehogs are regular visitors to the court.
