Finance Chief Banks National Award
Housing & Care 21’s Chief Financial Officer has won a top national award.
Paul Weston was named Finance Director of the Year at the Housing Association National Accountancy (HANA) Awards.
Our Finance Team was also shortlisted in the Finance Team of the Year category.
Paul said: “This is a great honour and I am very pleased and proud to have won the award.
“It has been a great team effort, which is why I was also proud that our Finance Team was also recognised for their hard work and dedication.
“Their performance is even more remarkable when you consider that our Head Office, including Finance, has recently relocated to Birmingham from Beaconsfield.”
The judges said Paul ‘brought real leadership to the finance team and an emphasis on robust finance management and reporting across the business.’ They said this had given Housing & Care 21 a sound basis for the future.
Paul, who lives close to the Shropshire/Staffordshire border between Telford and Stafford, joined Housing & Care 21 in August 2012. He has 25 years of experience in finance, having previously worked for The Allied Healthcare Group as Chief Financial Officer for seven years before it was sold to Saga in 2011.
Other previous roles have included Interim Chief Financial Officer for The Home Group, a large national social housing and supported living provider based in the North East, and Group Financial Controller at SSL International plc, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of healthcare and consumer brands including Durex and Scholl. He has also worked for Fruit of the Loom and for Arthur Andersen in Birmingham.
The HANA awards ceremony took place at the National Motorcycle Museum, near Birmingham, on Tuesday 17 March 2015. Paul was named Finance Director of the Year in the ‘Large Housing Association’ category.
