The town has a range of supermarkets, banks, shops, cafés and restaurants, while Burnley is only five miles away and offers a variety of shops and markets.
Buses run every 15 minutes into Burnley, Rawtenstall, Bury and Manchester from a stop near the court. Residents can also use a dial-a-ride service or local taxi companies to get around. The nearest train station is in Burnley and there is a steam railway to local villages and Bury.

A very active social committee organises the many events taking place in the colourful communal lounge and the attractive landscaped gardens at Harvey Longworth Court. Activities on offer to residents include fairs, afternoon teas, barbecues and suppers; darts, games and quiz nights; bingo and carpet bowls as well as guest artists and speakers. The lawned gardens have plentiful seating areas ideal for relaxing in warm weather and watching the wide variety of wildlife that visits. Keen gardeners are welcome to grow their own produce in the raised beds.
Crawshawbooth has a good range of local amenities including a chip shop, bakery, post office, takeaways and chemist. There is also a newsagent, dry cleaner, hairdresser and a public library.
