Our work around dementia

Our work around dementia

Housing 21 chairs the Housing and Dementia Working Group, which brings together a range of people from Housing Associations, the NHS, Government Departments and a range of other organisations. It seeks to disseminate best practice and influence the dementia agenda at a national level.

Housing 21 are core members of the:

1. Housing and Dementia Research Consortium, which is hosted by the University of Worcester.

This network carries out research which can be transferred into practice. We have previously undertaken research around Walking with Purpose highlighting good practice and that which is not so good across our Extra Care and Retirement Housing.

2. National Dementia Action Alliance

3. Pan London Housing and Dementia Group

Dementia Friends

All Housing 21 staff are Dementia Friends, and contractors and suppliers are encouraged to support the Dementia Friends initiative. We provide regular and ongoing opportunities for our residents to become Dementia Friends.
