Francesca Crisante is a research officer at the National Housing Federation (NHF), whose members are non-for-profit social landlords providing more than two and a half million homes and services for around six million people.

At the NHF, Francesca has a particular interest in issues relating to homelessness, supported housing and resident experience. Francesca led the NHF’s most recent survey of supported and older person’s housing providers to understand challenges to developing new homes in a context of increasing demand, and co-authored research Finding a safe home after hospital. This report explores evidence on the impact of housing-related delayed hospital discharges and the important role that supported housing can play in preventing delays and alleviating pressure on the NHS.

Prior to working at the NHF, Francesca worked for a youth charity supporting financial inclusion and tenancy sustainment. Francesca led on research exploring care-experienced young people’s transition to independence, where the experiences and stories from participants demonstrated that social housing could offer a stable foundation for young people to thrive as independent adults.
