Vicky Carne is the founder of 3A-AI and a serial entrepreneur who has founded businesses in publishing, technology and online learning over more than four decades. More recently, her experience of living in an over-60s development in North London led her to explore how AI could help older adults remain independent, informed and connected.
3A-AI’s first project, Peggy, is a voice-enabled AI assistant for residents in later-living communities. Through natural conversation, Peggy provides round-the-clock answers about community life, from activities and services to everyday practical matters. It is currently being piloted with Housing 21.
Vicky is also developing an online AI confidence community for people aged 60 and over. It will offer practical guidance, shared learning and support to help members use AI in everyday life to pursue their interests and maintain their independence.
Vicky is keen that older adults should help shape how AI is used and benefit from the opportunities it creates.
