Housing 21 is thrilled to announce that it has been shortlisted in the UK national GO Awards in the Contract and Supplier Management Award category.

The Contract and Supplier Management category, a new award for 2023, recognises organisations that are demonstrating best practice in the way in which they manage their contracts.

Housing 21 was named as a shortlist for its partnership with Safe Contractor, the submission detailed the implementation of the Safe Contractor platform, provided by Alcumus, which facilitates the management of contractors and how it has reduced risk and maintained the high standards of the supply chain.

Gill Brown, Head of Procurement, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised for our work to improve the management of contractors.

“Our priority is ensuring residents live in quality homes and receive excellent services from local accredited contractors such as cleaners, gardeners, and electricians.

“The Safe Contractor portal has enabled us to streamline the vetting and compliance checks of contractors across all 650 of our schemes, allowing local housing managers to prioritise time with residents.”

The GO Awards, organised by BiP Solutions, recognise procurement achievements from across the UK’s public, private and third sector organisations.  The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony taking place at voco St John’s in Solihull on 1 June 2023.
