There is excitement at Housing 21’s Bowland View as the news of their first inspection was announced.

The Care Quality Commission awarded the Extra Care scheme in Bentham a rating of ‘Good’ after their recent visit in June this year.

The report praised the positive culture at the service: “People spoke highly about the staff and staff told us they really enjoyed their jobs.

“There was regular oversight and monitoring of the safety and quality of the service.”

Victoria Tallon, Interim Housing and Care Manager at Bowland View, said: “We are incredibly proud of the Care Team at Bowland View for delivering high quality care to all residents.

“As a relatively new scheme, we have done an exceptional job in achieving a ‘Good’ rating in our first CQC inspection: everyone should be very happy with the result, and proud of themselves for making a difference.”

The inspector also highlighted the focus on learning and development from the Management Team overseeing the Care Team at Bowland View, reporting: “The Regional Extra Care Manager and Acting Manager were committed to learning and developing to improve the service, and engaged well with people, their relatives and staff.”

The Extra Care scheme which opened its doors in May last year, offers independent living for residents, in a stylish and modern home with care and support available for those who may need it.

Bowland View is a vibrant Extra Care scheme designed for people over the age of 55 in Bentham, North Yorkshire. Facilities include an on-site hair salon, a café/ bistro, a resident’s lounge and pets can also move in with residents.
