For some organisations, trying to manage older people’s housing alongside general needs housing, can prove challenging as the two business streams have very different requirements. Through Housing 21's approach to acquisitions, we provide housing associations with a solution ensuring older people receive the safe, quality and affordable homes they deserve.

By purchasing Retirement Living and Extra Care schemes from other housing associations, we can provide residents with an expert service, whilst enabling housing associations to concentrate on their core business stream. We do this in partnership with everyone involved, ensuring residents are supported and consulted at every step of the journey so they are reassured they are transferring to a reputable and trusted landlord.

The same approach is taken with employees. We know it’s not just residents who make up a scheme – employees do too. So, as part of the acquisition process, we engage and work with the existing employees so they are supported and look forward to join the Housing 21 team.

We plan to invest in our acquired properties to ensure they are maintained to a safe, secure and quality standard. It is this approach that has helped us acquire schemes from eight major housing associations in recent years.
