Make A Difference Everyday volunteering: Andy's story

Marketing Manager Andy takes time away from promoting new Housing 21 developments to use his volunteer days at his local church.

Every Housing 21 employee is offered two paid-for volunteer days every year to support a charity or worthwhile cause of their choice, helping to Make A Difference Everyday.

Andy's story:

After a successful first visit to volunteer at his local church, Andy has returned for further volunteer days to help support the local community.

He said: “The first time I visited, I went along for one of their weekly 'Warm Spaces' sessions; inviting people of the local community to come along for a free lunch, warm drink and a friendly chat.
“I had a great day and I left with a smile on my face feeling humbled, knowing I was able to make a positive contribution to other peoples’ day.

“When it was time to look for an opportunity for my next volunteer day, I decided to go back again and spent the day talking to people from the community, making drinks and serving hot meals. Although it was cold and wet outside, the atmosphere inside was warm and bright.

“It’s great that Housing 21 has this fantastic benefit of two volunteer days each year - it felt so good to be able to give some of my time back to help others.”
