Residents at Wellington Mill enjoyed the open day at their Housing 21 scheme following the completion of a recent makeover.
The scheme has benefited from a range of improvements, including external remedial works, redecorated hallways, refreshed bungalows and a full makeover of the communal lounge and kitchen, with new furniture, flooring and a media wall.
Accessibility has also been improved with a new automatic external entrance, while the patio area has been extended with new seating funded through the Resident Trust Fund.
Dan is a resident at the scheme, he said: "The work that's been done is absolutely amazing. I can't imagine how much it's cost, but it does show how Housing 21 looks after its residents. I feel proud to be here."
"Everybody's very proud of it, everybody. We're very happy here and we're going to be here for many, many years."
The Retirement Living scheme in Leek was acquired by Housing 21 more than two years ago and has benefited from a range of improvements as part of the housing provider's ongoing commitment to maintaining high-quality homes and communal spaces in line with its property standards.
Residents enjoyed a special celebration event which included a raffle, live music from a local singer and an ice cream van.
Jane is the Local Housing Manager at the scheme: "A lot has changed. It has been massively upgraded by Housing 21. The investment which has taken place here is amazing really, I've never seen anything like it throughout my career."
