Construction work has finished at Michaelmas Court in Thurston.

Housing 21’s new Extra Care scheme will welcome residents this summer.

On Wednesday, 2 July, the local community is invited to attend the official open day. Taking place between 10:30am and 3pm, the event will allow potential residents to meet the local team and have a tour of the scheme.

Melissa Heyns, Housing and Care Manager at Michaelmas Court said: “We’re thrilled to open the doors of Michaelmas Court to the community, showcasing our commitment to providing a supportive and vibrant environment for our residents and the village, in line with the expectations of the Thurston Relief In Need Charity. This open day is a fantastic opportunity to meet some of our dedicated team, find out more about Extra Care, and have a tour of the scheme.”

The open day is a chance to find out more about how residents will live independently in a stylish apartment or bungalow. With properties available for over 55s, there is the option to rent or own through shared ownership.

Located on Heath Road in a rural setting, the Extra Care scheme is a great choice for people looking to downsize and enjoy living in a beautiful new home with support from an on-site care team, if or when it is required.

A dedicated Housing and Care Manager will be on-site at Michaelmas Court, working alongside the care team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable living experience for all.

Residents will benefit from a wide range of communal facilities, including a communal lounge, activity room, laundry, communal gardens, health suite, and a guest room. Additional facilities will also be available for use by the wider local community, including a café and hair salon.
