A new Retirement Living scheme in Truro has officially opened its doors, marking an important addition to housing options for older residents in the area.
Lowarth Morbies, located close to Truro town centre, offers a total of 40 modern apartments, comprising 26 homes available for rent and 14 offered through shared ownership. Designed to support independent living within a welcoming community setting, the scheme provides residents with comfort, convenience and easy access to local amenities, transport links, and the scenic surroundings of the nearby River Truro.
The grand opening event brought together the residents, local stakeholders and partners to celebrate the completion of the scheme. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the apartments and communal spaces, gaining first-hand insight into the thoughtfully designed homes.
Entertainment on the day included singing from students at Truro College and special guests local councillor Loic Rich and the Mayor and Mayoress were also in attendance.
Antony Walker, Head of Retirement Living at Housing 21, said: “This scheme has been designed with residents’ wellbeing and independence at its heart. We’re proud to offer a safe, supportive, and vibrant environment where people can truly feel at home while staying connected to the local community."
The scheme reflects a commitment to delivering high-quality housing solutions tailored to the needs of older people, combining affordability with a strong sense of community.
