Three new Extra Care schemes have been added to Housing 21’s portfolio following a successful acquisition from Bromford Flagship LiveWest.

This week (commencing Monday, 5 October) Housing 21 welcomed 296 residents and 16 employees from Beacon Park Village in Lichfield, School Gardens in Stourport-on-Severn and Park Gardens in Banbury following months of collaborative discussions between the two organisations.

Steph Ramsden, Director of Growth, Development and Partnerships, said: “We’re delighted to officially welcome residents and employees from Beacon Park Village, School Gardens and Park Gardens. Today’s completion follows many months of successful partnership working   with Bromford and those living and working at the schemes and I’d like to thank everyone involved for helping us get to this stage”

“The demand for older people’s housing is increasing with the ageing population. Our approach by growing through both acquisition and new development, means we can provide more older people with homes specifically designed around their needs and support them to live independently for longer.”

“As a specialist provider, we understand that an acquisition is more than transferring properties; it’s about welcoming new residents and colleagues and ensuring they feel the benefit of being part of an organisation dedicated to providing quality homes and services for older people.”

The 273 properties acquired by Housing 21 include 78 at Park Gardens, 60 at School Gardens and 135 at Beacon Park Village. Beacon Park Village will become Housing 21’s sixth Extra Care Village, building on the acquisition of five villages from Midland Heart in 2024.

The three new schemes transferring to Housing 21 comprise a total of 273 properties, with Park Gardens and School Gardens accounting for 78 and 60 properties respectively. The remaining 135 properties are at Beacon Park Village, Housing 21’s sixth Extra Care Village following the acquisition of five villages from Midland Heart in 2024.

Jonathan Cooper, Strategic Property Planning Manager at Bromford said: "We're pleased to have completed the transfer of three of our Extra Care schemes to Housing 21. We're incredibly proud of the homes and support we've provided over many years, and we know residents are in good hands with Housing 21.

"Residents will keep their homes, tenancies, leases and care arrangements, and we’d like to thank both customers and colleagues for helping make the transition such a success."
