As part of a commitment to creating a healthier, more inclusive workplace for all, Housing 21 has joined the Wellbeing of Women Membership Programme. Recognising that 89% of its workforce is made up of women, the initiative reinforces the organisation’s commitment to gender equality and places a strong focus on supporting women’s health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Bruce Moore, Chief Executive at Housing 21 said: “We want to ensure all colleagues feel supported, respected and valued at work, which is why we are delighted to be a part of Wellbeing of Women’s Employer Membership Programme.

“Women make up a large percentage of the workforce at Housing 21 and we all have an important role to play in ensuring we provide meaningful support to help our current and future female colleagues manage their health. The Wellbeing of Women’s Employer Membership Programme, by supporting us to further build our awareness, knowledge and support will help us to do this.”

The housing association already offers its employees support through Menopause and Andropause Policies and flexible working polices; a Simply Health cash plan, internal employee wellbeing resources, eLearning opportunities and a regular Menopause Café hosted online with the Employee Wellbeing Lead.

As part of this initiative, the organisation will also gain access to a wide range of expert-led resources and guidance to help raise awareness, improve understanding, and implement practical support for gynaecological health at work. This includes crafting effective policies, launching awareness campaigns, and embedding inclusive practices across the organisation. Becoming a member marks a positive step forward, offering female employees added reassurance and access to extra support when they need it most.

Wellbeing of Women is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to improving women’s health through research, education, and advocacy. The Employer Membership Programme supports organisations in making meaningful changes to workplace culture and support systems related to women’s health.
