One year since Housing 21 announced its biggest ever acquisition, the housing provider has secured the care contracts at School Court and Brunel Court in South Staffordshire.

With a portfolio of 191 Extra Care developments across England, Housing 21 is responsible for the care services at half of these schemes, with an impressive 95 percent of the services rated as Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

School Court in Hednesford and Brunel Court in Wombourne are Extra Care schemes where the care was previously provided by third-party provider, Nexus. The care contract transferred to Housing 21 from 1 October, offering residents a joined-up service with the building and care contract now managed by one organisation.

Reflecting on the achievement, Tracy Jones, Head of Operational Development at Housing 21 said: “This has been a smooth and successful transfer. The team has been instrumental in the success.

“Engagement with both residents and transferring employees has been very positive. We are excited to be bringing two new integrated services into Housing 21.”

Last year, Housing 21 announced the successful transfer of 23 Midlands based Extra Care schemes, adding 1,567 properties to its portfolio. In addition to the properties, Housing 21 welcomed 1,600 residents and 137 employees as part of the acquisition.
