The second cohort of Housing 21’s flagship Housing Academy came together to begin their career pathway towards a management role within housing.

After a successful first cohort last year, which saw two participants progress into regional manager roles, the academy has now welcomed eight new learners embarking on the next stage in their career development.

The initiative is an 18-month programme designed to support operational employees in progressing into senior leadership roles at Housing 21 whilst working in their existing roles. Students on the course will be working towards a Level 4 Senior Housing and Property Management Apprenticeship with the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Anthony Kennedy, Leadership Development Manager at Housing 21 said:“We’re excited to welcome students onto the second cohort of the academy.

“The Housing Academy represents an investment in our people. By equipping colleagues with the right skills, knowledge and support, we can deliver even better outcomes for our residents.”

The programme is developed with the growing complexities of the housing sector focusing on key areas such as customer service, compliance, safeguarding, tenancy management, communication and leadership.

Introducing learning and development opportunities for its employees, is in line with the housing providers Investors in People Platinum status. Alongside the Housing Academy the not-for-profit also offers opportunities with its Extra Care Academy and various apprenticeships.
