Local buses run every half an hour into Clacton or to the supermarkets from the stop outside the court. Clacton has a train station providing transport links to towns and cities further afield. There is also a convenient dial-a-ride service which can be booked in advance and reliable local taxis that service the court.

Howard Vyse Court has a welcoming residents’ lounge, communal laundry, communal kitchen and ample parking spaces.
The court is surrounded by well-maintained lawns and flowerbeds which offer a pleasant place for residents to sit and chat or just relax and watch the local squirrels play. Residents take great pride in the appearance of the grounds and get involved with gardening. During the summer the gardens enjoy a floral display outside the properties where the residents have planted many pots. The gardens are safe and child-friendly.
This lively, welcoming court has an active social committee and there are regular activities on offer to residents; these include bingo sessions, quiz nights, games evenings, social evenings, meditation and relaxation - there's even a resident DJ hosting music nights!
Other events have included a cheese and wine evening, a strawberry and Pimms afternoon, pie and mash nights and a variety of themed events.
The attractive landscaped gardens are a pleasant place for residents to sit and chat with friends and neighbours or simply relax and watch the local wildlife; they may also get involved with a spot of gardening if they choose.
The village has a good range of local shops and services including a small convenience store, a post office and two pharmacies. There is also a pub, church, fish and chip shop, doctor's surgery and a number of supermarkets nearby.
