Peacock Close is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the prestigious and affluent area of Emerson Park in Hornchurch, overlooking parkland and an ornamental lake.

There are a number of shops within 10 minutes’ walk of the court including a supermarket, chemist, cafés and independent shops. Nearby Hornchurch has larger supermarkets and a wide range of high street stores, leisure facilities, pubs and cafés.

The area offers plenty for residents to do. Queen’s Theatre showcases a number of events throughout the year, while Fairkytes Arts Centre offers regular activities including painting, pottery, jewellery-making and photography. There are several historic properties to visit, such as the historic Langtons mansion and park, Upminster Windmill and Tithe Barn. Hornchurch also holds regular farmers’ markets, music festivals and arts events.

Peacock Close is ideally situated for travel into London, with access to the District line nearby. Local buses into Romford, Upminster, Hornchurch, Lakeside shopping centre, Rainham, Brentwood and Chelmsford are all available from the town centre. Emerson Park main line station is a 15 minute walk from the court with services to Romford, Shenfield, Southend, Stratford, Chelmsford and Colchester. There is a dial-a-ride service and several reliable taxi companies in the area.

Peacock Close has been recently modernised and has a large communal lounge with TV, Wii, Blu-ray and entertainment facilities, a communal kitchen, well-stocked library with internet access, snooker, darts, a hobby and craft room, laundry and ample parking. A hairdresser and chiropodist visit the court each week.

The court has extensive and child-friendly grounds with lawns, shrubs, borders and mature trees. There is a pleasant patio area where residents can enjoy a barbecue in the summer or sit and watch the swans, ducks and squirrels which regularly visit. Many of the residents are keen gardeners.
