In partnership with Churchill Living, we're proud to share that 41 new Retirement Living apartments will be built on Christys Lane, offering high-quality homes available for social rent.
Drovers Lodge is an independent living Retirement Living scheme in Shaftesbury designed for people aged 55 and over.
The scheme will consist of 41 modern apartments, compromising of 27 one-bedroom apartments and 14 two-bedroom apartments, designed to offer fully accessible facilities for both residents and visitors, including an on‑site guest suite, housing manager and a dedicated buggy store.
Additional amenities feature a spacious residents’ lounge – an ideal place to welcome family and friends.
The scheme will be managed by Housing 21 and will offer a pet-friendly environment for residents who wish to bring their furry companions, so you can truly feel at home.
Due to open in Summer 2027.
Eligibility for the scheme
Applications are not yet open but will be through two routes:

- Dorset Council: you can apply for Dorset Council’s housing register and find out more on their allocations policy through the following link – Register for housing - Dorset Council. They may require a local connection.
