Ellis Gordon Court

Ellis Gordon Court overlooks the South Downs in the Meeching Valley area of Newhaven and enjoys a strong community spirit.

There is a leisure centre in Newhaven with a swimming pool and a range of regular fitness classes and activities. Newhaven also holds a weekly market and an annual Fish Festival.

Just 20 minutes’ drive away is the cosmopolitan seafront city of Brighton with its Regency architecture, famous pier and attractions including the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Wheel and Sea Life Centre. The popular holiday destination of Eastbourne is half an hour away in the other direction.

Local buses are available from a bus stop a few minutes’ walk from the court and offer services to Brighton or Eastbourne. There is a convenient community bus and reliable taxi firm which residents can book, and Newhaven has its own train station about 20 minutes’ walk away.

The court has a range of on-site facilities including a communal laundry, pleasant guest room, buggy room, lift and private parking.

The court’s sloping gardens are well-maintained and attract a range of local wildlife including a fox called Bambi who is a regular visitor. Green-fingered residents are encouraged to get involved with tending the gardens if they choose.
