The friendly scheme of Goode Court, in the small town of Lydney in Gloucestershire, is a short drive from the natural beauty of the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.
The court is within walking distance of Lydney town centre and its ample leisure and sporting facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, rugby and bowls club. There is a community centre where various clubs and associations meet. The town hall, just 10 minutes’ walk away from the court, holds frequent entertainments including plays and musical evenings.
The town also has a harbour on the River Severn, a beautiful public park and boating lake.
The area has good transport links to other areas in the Forest Of Dean and the nearby city of Gloucester. Local bus services run to Chepstow or Coleford from a bus stop directly opposite the court and there is a train station just over a mile away. A reliable dial-a-ride service operates in the town and there are volunteer car services, local minibuses and taxi firms to help residents get around.
Goode Court has a modern and welcoming residents’ lounge, en-suite guest room, communal laundry, lift and Car park.
The attractive landscaped grounds are well-maintained and feature a rose garden, sloping lawns and flowerbeds. Residents are welcome to get involved with gardening if they wish and several enjoy feeding the birds and other local wildlife.
