Harry Whitehead Court is a sociable scheme with a welcoming atmosphere, situated in a pleasant and peaceful area of Walmersley, just outside Bury.
The court is only a short bus ride away from the famous Bury market, which is open four days a week, and Clarence Park, which offers many pleasant walks. The town’s lido and Age UK centre are also within easy reach.
There is a local supermarket just across the road from the court and a post office, fish and chip shop and chemist in a small precinct a few minutes away. The Jubilee Centre is nearby and is a popular place for residents to enjoy lunch. A large supermarket is just a short bus ride away.
Regular trams and buses run from the Bury Interchange into Manchester, Ashton under Lyne, Rochdale and Ramsbottom. A weekly dial-a-ride service is available to take residents shopping or to appointments.
Harry Whitehead Court has a range of on-site facilities for residents, including a spacious communal lounge, guest room, communal laundry and Car park.
The court has attractive gardens divided into different areas for residents to enjoy. There are several patio areas which provide a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the fresh air. Green-fingered residents are welcome to get involved with gardening if they choose.
