Poppy Dene is an Extra Care scheme offering independent living with access to on-site care for people over the age of 55, with 71 one- and two-bed apartments available for rent.
Founded in 1948, the town of Peterlee is set on the rolling hills of County Durham. The town overlooks the stunning Durham coast and is home to the Castle Eden Dene National Nature Reserve, which is the largest area of semi-natural woodland in North East England.
Our Extra Care Living development has been designed to provide fully accessible facilities for both residents and visitors, which include a restaurant and hair salon for use by the community. There is also an assisted bathing suite, a communal lounge and gardens for residents and their guests to enjoy. As well as support from our specialist team, the scheme is managed by a dedicated onsite Registered Manager.
Residents must be 55 or over to live at Poppy Dene, have a local connection and have a current care package in place for a minimum of 3.5 hours per week or an urgent housing need.
