Richard Onslow Court enjoys an attractive setting in Monkmoor, a peaceful part of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. The historic town is close to the River Severn and boasts over 600 listed buildings.
The town centre is just three miles from the court and offers plenty for residents to do. Shrewsbury market hall is open four days a week and nearby Quarry Park holds a variety of events including concerts, flower shows, fairs and circuses. Shrewsbury has many attractions including a theatre, leisure centre, cinema, bowling alley, pubs, restaurants, cafés and National Trust properties.
There is a good range of local amenities within 10 minutes’ walk of the court including a newsagent, post office, chemist, small supermarket and hairdresser. Larger supermarkets, banks, doctors surgeries and dentists are a short bus ride away.
Buses run regularly into Shrewsbury from a stop just a few minutes’ walk from the court and the town has a train station providing connections to the surrounding area. Many residents use the local taxis or dial-a-ride service to get around.
Richard Onslow Court has a range of on-site facilities including a residents’ lounge, communal kitchen, laundry, and a guest room.
The court is set in very attractive and child-friendly gardens with extensive lawns, flowerbeds and mature trees. Residents are welcome to look after an area of the garden if they choose. The gardens attract a variety of wildlife including birds, squirrels and hedgehogs.

The social committee holds regular meetings to organise events which include coffee mornings, bingo evenings, Sunday lunch club, seasonal celebrations and fundraising initiatives.
