Housing 21, a leading national provider of Extra Care and Retirement Living housing, were joined by representatives from Feltham Construction, WWA Architecture, Hampshire County Council, TSA Riley and the Mayor of Petersfield. The development is being delivered with grant funding from Homes England and Hampshire County Council. It will be Housing 21’s first Extra Care scheme in Petersfield.
Bulmer House will comprise 56 self-contained apartments, which will all feature their own balconies or patios. The apartments will be available for social rent to local people over the age of 55.
Residents will have the assurance of an on-site care team who will be available 24/7, allowing them to live independently but with care and support on-hand if they need it.
Residents will benefit from a range of facilities including a restaurant, residents’ lounge, hair salon, laundry room, guest room, assisted bathroom and mobility scooter store. There will also be landscaped gardens and plenty of on-site parking.
Ash Round, Delivery Development Manager from Housing 21, said: “We are excited to work with Feltham Construction, also in partnership with Homes England and Hampshire County Council as funding partners to deliver this new Extra Care court in Petersfield and I am confident it will be a flagship development of this type bringing much needed affordable, Extra Care housing to East Hampshire”.
Councillor Liz Fairhurst, Hampshire County Council’s Executive Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health, said: “Extra Care housing is a great way for older people to live independently while knowing that help is always nearby and available around the clock. The County Council is proud to help bring this much-needed accommodation to older residents in the Petersfield area.”
It is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2027.
