Charles Ley Court

Charles Ley Court is situated on the edge of the village of Fawley, tucked between Southampton Water and the New Forest and surrounded by mature trees.

The court has a communal lounge, laundry, guest room for visiting family and friends, and on-site parking.

Charles Ley Court is proud of its pleasant grounds, which are filled with wildlife attracted by the many bird feeders. Owls live nearby and a fox visits at night. Most of the seasonal planting is undertaken by a resident, assisted by other residents, and everyone is welcome to join in.  

The attractive town of Hythe is a few miles away, with Totton and Southampton slightly further afield. There is a weekly market in Hythe and a farmers’ market at the nearby village of Marchwood. There are many events at Beaulieu, which also boasts the Motor Museum and elegant stately home. Fawley itself has a popular Christmas fair.

There is plenty to do in the area, with the beach, Exbury Gardens and the natural beauty of the New Forest within easy reach. There are opportunities locally for fishing or sailing in Lymington.

Fawley has a range of amenities including a convenience store, post office, several takeaways, a church and a pub, while there are banks in Hythe and the nearby village of Holbury. A selection of larger supermarkets can be found in the area and the nearest health centre is a couple of miles away.

Buses run every half hour from a stop just a few minutes’ walk from the court and will take you into Southampton, Hythe, Totton, the Calshott water sports centre and to the beach, as well as local villages. There is a ferry service across Southampton Water from Hythe to the city or a link to the Isle of Wight ferries. Community transport can be arranged to the Lymington or Hythe Hospitals.
