The home was rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in February 2019, making it the first residential care home to achieve this in Walsall.
Set in attractive grounds and close to local amenities, The Water Mill has been developed specifically for those living with dementia.
The well-appointed home has been designed to maximise comfort and space; a light colour scheme, additional window space and open doorways all feature in the scheme to help improve freedom of space and movement. The home is fully accessible with wheelchair user access throughout and level access shower rooms.
Visitor access
The health and wellbeing of our residents is our priority.
After following advice from Public Health England (PHE) and the NHS, we are not allowing visitors to The Watermill care home who present a risk of the transmission of Covid-19 (Coronavirus).
We have communicated the list of entry criteria with family members and regular visitors and are taking additional precautions to protect our residents at the care home from infection.

The Watermill has a Dementia Village specifically designed to help those living with dementia continue to live happy and healthy lives.
Services at The Watermill help people with dementia live as independently as possible in a fun and caring environment that helps to maintain wellbeing. The home employs four dementia supervisors who manage one house each.
Both indoor and outdoor garden areas are available to green-fingered residents, who can keep active in a safe and secure environment. Sensory rooms, activities and other areas of the home are also available to all residents and in particular those with visual and/or hearing impairments.
Built on the site of the old Goscote Hospital, The Water Mill is close to local shops and amenities, including dentists and a doctors' surgery.
