We know that for residents, being told about potential changes to where you live can feel unsettling. Which is why we are committed to ensuring you are kept involved at every step of the process and will keep you informed throughout.
At the start of the acquisitions process, your current landlord/ housing association will let you know that they are exploring opportunities to transfer yours and other properties to Housing 21. This will be subject to a full consultation process, which you are encouraged to take part in.
During the consultation, we will attend meetings at your scheme, along with your current landlord/ housing association to introduce ourselves and answer any questions you may have about the process.
We encourage you to bring along any family or friends to support you during these meetings. If you can’t attend, don’t worry; we will ensure copies of any key information are shared with you in your preferred language or format; just let us know the preferred way you would like to receive this.
Please be reassured that if acquisition does go ahead, the terms and conditions of your tenancy/ leasehold are protected and will not change, and you will not have to move. You will continue to live in the same home exactly as you do now, just with a different landlord owning the property.
Any costs and charges for the financial year, such as rent or service charge, will also be honoured and not change.
