There is always something going on in Bridlington including dance festivals, vintage car fairs, the annual old town festival, car boot sales, fetes, markets and candle-lit parades and carols at Christmas. The town has a range of places to eat and drink, from cafés to fine dining, as well as many pubs, social clubs, banks, amusement arcades, gyms and leisure activities.
Buses run into town regularly from a stop near the court along the coast to Skipsea, Hornsea and Withersea, or to nearby Driffield, Beverley and Hull. Bridlington has a train station 10 minutes away which operates regular services to Hull.
Nearby attractions include the Bempton Cliffs bird sanctuary, the Spotlight amateur dramatic theatre, the recently refurbished Victorian Spa Theatre and the Yorkshire Wolds. Bridlington is surrounded by many pretty villages which all offer their own attractions and events. Sewerby Park and the Park Rose Pottery and Bird of Prey Centre are all a few miles out of town.
The court has a large garden with raised beds, planters and a pleasant seating area with a barbeque where residents can relax and enjoy the fresh air or have lunch in the summer. Green-fingered residents are welcome to join in with the gardening if they choose. The garden is child friendly and safe for the pets that some of the residents keep.
