
Dymond House is an Extra Care court in Sutton that offers independent living with specialist care and support for people living with dementia and learning disabilities. The court comprises of 49 contemporary apartments in a purpose built development, with care and support on site 24-7 and a range of communal facilities.
Each apartment has a fully-fitted kitchen and well-appointed, accessible shower room, and is fitted with emergency alarms and door exit sensors. The development features communal lounges for leisure activities, a guest room for family and friends, and landscaped gardens with seating areas.
Of the 49 apartments, 30 are for people living with dementia, 10 are used as reablement apartments to help people regain and maintain their independence, and nine are for adults with learning disabilities. A care team is based on site 24-7 and will provide specialist care tailored to the needs of the individual.
There is also a court manager service to provide day-to-day support with issues such as repairs and maintenance.
Sutton is home to the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research. There is a wide range of shops in the town, with a number of covered arcades. It is also well served with restaurants, coffee bars, pubs and bars. The central area is pedestrianised during shopping hours, and the extra space encourages cafes, pubs and restaurants to provide pavement seating.
