Goodman Court is set in the pleasant and peaceful rural village of Calow, yet is close to the market town of Chesterfield with its distinctive twisted spire.

Chesterfield, less than three miles away, is a vibrant town with a full programme of activities including a market three times a week and regular events throughout the year. The town has a wide range of high street shops and independent retailers, pubs, cafés, restaurants, a museum, theatre, library and cinema.

The area around Chesterfield offers plenty to explore including the Chatsworth Estate, Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle, Renishaw Gardens and the natural beauty of the Peak District.

A bus stop at the end of the road runs regular services into Chesterfield town centre, which is less than three miles away. Chesterfield has a train station which allows easy access to towns and cities further afield.

Goodman Court has a welcoming residents’ lounge, laundry and guest room.

The attractive communal gardens have a number of pleasant seating areas where residents can relax and enjoy the fresh air. Green-fingered residents are actively involved in tending the gardens if they wish and there is a greenhouse and vegetable patch where they can grow their own produce.

Life at Goodman Court

The active social committee at this friendly court offers a wide range of events for residents to enjoy in the spacious communal lounge.

These include regular coffee mornings, fish and chip lunches, strawberry teas, bingo sessions, games afternoons and charity events.

There are also off-site day trips to look forward to, and the communal gardens provide an attractive outdoor alternative space for relaxation and socialising in fine weather.

Keen gardeners are welcome to help tend the garden if they wish, and there is a greenhouse and vegetable patch where they can grow their own produce.
