Harvey Longworth Court is a Retirement Living scheme that enjoys a semi-rural location just outside the village of Crawshawbooth, between Burnley and Rawtenstall in the Rossendale Valley.
The scheme has a range of on-site facilities for residents to make the most of including a communal lounge and kitchen, laundry room, a car park and an en-suite guest room for when family visit. There is a large patio area with seating and a barbecue where residents can get together and enjoy the warmer weather. The gardens attract a wide variety of wildlife including birds, ducks, foxes and badgers.
The court offers extensive views of the valley and the area is surrounded by pleasant walks, impressive scenery and miles of open countryside. A little further afield is Rawtenstall, which has a twice-weekly market and a cobbled street leading to shops and attractions including the Weavers’ Cottage, Fitzpatrick Temperance Bar and the Footwear Heritage Museum. The town has a range of supermarkets, banks, shops, cafés and restaurants, while Burnley is only five miles away and offers a variety of shops and markets.
Buses run every 15 minutes into Burnley, Rawtenstall, Bury and Manchester from a stop near the court. Residents can also use a dial-a-ride service or local taxi companies to get around. The nearest train station is in Burnley and there is a steam railway to local villages and Bury.
