Residents at Carew Court in Cramlington are celebrating following a £1m refurbishment project to modernise the scheme.

The team at Housing 21’s Cedar Court were praised a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection to the Extra Care scheme in Lewisham.

Celebrations were in full swing at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham last night (Thursday 9 February) where Housing 21 won the award for Most Innovative Financial Support Scheme at the Housing Digital Innovation Awards.

A topping out ceremony was held to mark the key milestone for Housing 21’s latest Extra Care scheme, which has been developed in partnership with Vale of White Horse District Council, Oxfordshire Housing and Growth Deal and Oxfordshire County Council.

On 7 August 2020, Housing 21 priced a £120m tap of their 2017 bond issue.

Housing 21, a leading housing association for older people of modest means, has been downgraded from a G1 to a G2 rating by the Regulator of Social Housing. The Governance downgrade is due to issues involving rent setting processes and controls.

An Ispwich Extra Care scheme for people over the age of 55 has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an inspection this month. Oak House on Bentley Lane in Stutton, operated by Housing 21, is now 'Outstanding'.

An Extra Care Living development for people over the age of 55 in Bishopton announced its name last week.
